I am unsure, and it isn't a reflection on either of them, but...

I couldn't find any ACC All Rookie teams for any year other than 2020. However, given Kyle Guy's stats his first year, it was unlikely he was on any All Rookie team. I may be mistaken, but I don't think so. I know he didn't make any of the other All ACC teams. He played fewer than 18 mpg his first season, and he only had seven starts. All of those came at the end of the year, if I am not mistaken. Also, I am not convinced that the returning back court players in the 2016-2017 season were as good as those who will be returning next year. The players who kept Kyle Guy on the bench weren't as good as UVa's returning lettermen, IMO. So... If Kyle Guy (or Ty Jerome, for that matter) couldn't make third team All ACC in 2017, largely due to a lack of playing time, I am a bit skeptical that either Abdur-Rahim or Beekman will earn enough playing time next year to do so. It won't be for lack of talent, but there will be other frosh around the league who will garner much more attention because they will be in starting roles. Go 'Hoos!!!
