10 scholarships would not pay for one sport

After the 10 scholarship reduction in football pays for the 4.5 scholarships in men's tennis, there would not be enough left over to pay for the men's tennis coach and assistant coach, travel budget, recruiting budget, trainer and medical time, equipment.

And Title IX means they would have to try to save women's tennis alone, not men's tennis alone, and that is 8 scholarships.

The really bloated expenses in football involve gold-plating the coach's office and having more non-coaching staff than you can count, although I am not sue this applies to ECU.

The really bloated expenses in colleges are in non-athletic non-teaching administrators. Another topic for another day.
