Your #3

I saw the Allman Brothers at the Virginia Beach Dome in the months between the recording of Fillmore East and the release of the double album. I'd never heard that guitar tone before - 50w Marshalls through 2 Marshall 4x12 cabs with JBL D120s replacing the 25w Celestions. When the album came out, it captured that sound exactly - I'm still amazed. Played a bunch of those songs in my high school bands. Saw them again - still with Duane - at the Richmond Arena the day after their friend King Curtis was murdered. Nowhere close to Fillmore East or the Va Beach show. One amazing thing at that show: Duane played slide on his SG (same at Va Beach) and broke a B string. Roadie handed him a string and he changed it and got it back to tune while standing there on stage with the guitar still strapped on in about 30-45 seconds - never seen anything like it. Takes me forever to change strings on a damn Gibson.
