Makes sense...the weather is the best reason but also the first 6 weeks of


games take place in the shadow of the climax of the college basketball season, including conference tournaments & March Madness. A later start to college baseball would give baseball its due & definitely result in better attendance. Nothing wrong with games in September & October as well, which would mainly be weekday regional non-conference games. The one bad thing, as others have pointed out, would be the loss of the summer leagues, like the local Valley League with the Tom Sox, the Cape Cod League, & others. But they are made up of the same college players who would be playing games for their schools instead of a summer league team. This would be an unfortunate loss to a lot of summer league cities who embrace their teams.
