Err on the side of caution for now

There's still too much unknown about the virus, and new symptoms/syndromes are still making themselves known like the newly discovered bad news Multisystem Inflamatory Syndrome in children and young adults. There's also the seeming randomness of the apparently healthy folks of all ages with no known risk factors who get hit very hard, sometimes fatally, but really, the odds are it's not random, rather we just don't know the reason(s) yet - but we might in six months. And then there are folks who are testing positive again after recovering and testing negative multiple times (although they don't seem to be contagious again - yet anyway). What if other effects kick in months or years after infection (like Chicken Pox/Shingles)? We have no idea at this point. I have an elderly parent on the opposite coast and I'm resigned to not be able to visit until there's more knowledge about the disease and either effective consistent treatments or an effective safe vaccine because my parent would almost certainly not survive if I were to bring the disease unknowingly into the house.

Edit - we cancelled two trips in March and April and were supposed to be traveling overseas for three weeks starting next week - were on the verge of booking it when it became clear we should at least wait and see.
