Good Luck Finding Members

I’m definitely not saying it’s a bad thing, but I don’t think many non-revenues continue with a barebones budget. I would find this dynamic way more like current club sports at universities.

The Athletic Department would then be paying the coach to lead a program that wouldn’t compete at a high level, or be competitive within their conference. (Unless all programs cut the expenses) I don’t think many athletic departments will be willing to pay money to fund glorified club teams.

I will say that BC already does this with swimming to a certain extent. They fund it better than what you described, but they are stuck in a position in swimming where they will never, ever compete with their ACC goes unless other schools cut down their programs. And to be honest, those coaches and swimmers all get into it and have fun and they still swim pretty fast. So that model can work, but I don’t see it lasting too many places
