A bunch of rich people complaining about money. The low paid guys are being

screwed in the process. Rich people being owners and medium to high dollar players. Low paid guys are the minimum-salary types and minor leaguers, as well as stadium and gameday staffing.

Owners are being businesslike -- keep as much profit, limit as much loss, pay minimum labor costs, don't make short-term concessions that will make for a long term problem, especially with the CBA coming up.

Players don't want to absorb losses b/c they do not get bonuses when profits are up. They say owners have reaped a ton of extra profit w/ baseball's rise in last 5 years, but have not increased salaries. Now they are bitter b/c owners want to players to absorb losses through less games or pay cuts.

Now both sides are arguing over peanuts (money wise), with those arguments based on principles not specifically related to this situation, but principles that would carry forward to the next CBA.

Just the way I see it based on what I have read. Admittedly I can be a bit simplistic.
