I follow the statewide numbers for hospitals via the VHHA

(Va Hospital and Healthcare Assoc) websdite. I find their information far more useful than the VDH site, which I consider to be largely politically-driven.

VHHA today shows only 902 people hospitalized STATEWIDE, in a state with about 8.5 million citizens. That calculates out to a bit over one 100th of one percent. Over 8,000 patients have been discharged from hospitals. Doesn't fit well in the national media doom and gloom narrative, does it? Doesn't fit well with the VDH narrative either. Perhaps it will eventually take a big toll in the Roanoke area ( mean by that the cities of Roanoke and Salem, and the EIGHT surrounding counties, but at this point in time, other than the fiascos with nursing homes, it's been a relative non-event.

Where was the media outrage with governors mismanaging COVID19 when NYC was mounting up their death toll in March and April?

Why does VDH not "clear" asymptomatic cases, or all those who have gone a month or more without being hospitalized, from their count of "active" cases? They're sure as hell no longer active after all that time.
