Stanford's acceptance rate is 4.7%


I don't know what the acceptance rate is for students with above average stats compared to accepted students, but I suspect it's still very low. So even with above average stats, many of these athletes are only getting in because of "sports". Their above average acceptance rate goes from (I'm guessing) 15% to 50 or 75% because of crew or wrestling or whatever.

I suspect this is what they want to end and why I just assume they would have a requirement like this. I could easily be wrong.
