I could not agree more with Toolie


He says it better than I can. But this is not a situation of a single “breach” renders them useless. If you worked in a lab with a pathogen/etc and one mistake resulted in infection, then your friend is probably right. But this situation is about reducing viral load over the course of hours with unknown exposure (timing and duration). So even really poor useage reduces risk.
