Things I’m looking forward to seeing this season (if there is a season).

In no particular order:

1) A lot more of those beautiful in rhythm side-step-to-create-space-catch-and-shoot threes from Woldo. God I love those.

2) Jay Huff emerging as an elite shot blocker and with improved rebounding a double double machine.

3) Finally getting to see Hauser play! Man, it’s been a long wait.

4) Kihei being so ferocious and active in his on ball defense that at some point during a game he actually morphs into the Looney Tunes Tasmanian Devil.

5) The lineup surprises. Seems like there’s at least one big one every year. Will JAR emerge as a starter? Could Shedrick, the forgotten man, end up earning serious minutes?

6) Dominating the ACC. As has become normal. But is going undefeated in the conference too much to ask for?

7) Casey proving the doubters and the naysayers wrong.

8) Scoring. And dominating. Lots of scoring. And lots of dominating. Scoring in bunches. Winning by double digits instead of on the last possession (we had a lifetime’s worth of that last year). Raining threes from Hauser, Huff and Woldo, building dominant leads and demoralizing opponents. After all of those brutal stretches last season, when consistent offense and big runs were in short supply, I expect to see the return of the cavalanche - with a vengeance.

9) Caffaro emerging as the second coming of Jack Salt. A master of the hedge and providing tough, physical interior defense.

10) Another Final Four, maybe another national championship. It really seems to me like we have the pieces to repeat. Please please please let there be a season this year, in whatever truncated form, with March Madness.
