Don’t see the resemblance as they have differing skill sets.


Wilkens was an undersized low post player who was always an excellent defender and rebounder. Over time, he developed a better mid range jump shot but he was never a go to perimeter shooter. McKoy had a strong perimeter game in high school. I think he is just developing some of the defensive and rebounding skills that Wilkins had early. McKoy has a lot of potential though and it will be interesting to see if he carves a role. There is a lot of competition for a likely 8 man rotation in ACC play, with Huff, Hauser, Clarke definitely Starting. Then, Woldentensae, Morsell, Caffaro return having also started multiple games. Beekman Likely backs up Clarke. That leaves JAR, Stattman, Mckoy and Shedrick All competing for limited Remaining minutes in the rotation if McCorkle redshirts. Of course, injuries could play into this as well.
