Yeah I look at the similarities with 2017 as a portent of warning, not hope


2017 there were position battles going on all the way through the conference season (in part because the unexpected loss of Nichols forced the coaches to retool the entire roster after the season had begun), and future greats in the form of Guy, Jerome and Hunter were kept below the minutes their potential would have earned them on other squads. But at the end of the season the vets who got minutes in place of the talented freshman saw the writing on the wall and 3 of them (Shayok, Thompson, Reuter) transferred out for greener pastures anyway.
