I did a quick look back to last year, ironically to get ready for this year
It feels like a scene from one of those post-apocalyptic movies. The actors come across an abandoned house but there's food on the table, coffee's still brewing, laundry out on the line, but no one is around. The actors go "what the hell happened here? It's like they're just gone."
The 19-20 team had a lousy January for the most part, but finished strong winning 11 of 12 and knocking of L'ville, Duke, a crappy UNC team, among others. We didn't win convincingly, but we won. A "down year" and we only had 7 regular season losses. Since there is no parallel universe we can access, we'll never know how that team would have done but I will go to my grave believing that they would have had a deep run in the Tournament. Only Gonzaga and Kansas really scared me. Oh well, what might have been.
Enough about last year.
On paper we have the players to be a formidable team the year. I really want to see how guys that are entering Year 2 step up, and how new-comers - including one Sam Houser - contribute. Very exciting, potentially. Also a lot of question marks. The biggest one being our opponent COVID.
