This is the deal on Sweden

And it really isn't even a debate any more, in my opinion, but seems like the press needs to fill their pages with something. Sweden stumbled onto the right strategy at the cost of a very high number of elderly deaths. What we know now is workable, and what pretty much every country in europe is doing, is limited lock down while protecting the elderly. When Sweden first started their approach, they didn't know that it would spread through nursing homes like wildfire and take a lot of lives with it. They have since evolved their strategy to account for this. This is very similar to NY where Cuomo didn't lock down the nursing homes and in fact sent patients from the hospital back to nursing homes that were Covid positive.

Those countries that were more cautious (Denmark, Norway) are now loosening restrictions, seeing a rise in cases, but not NEARLY the amount of death because they learned from Sweden's mistake.

So maybe Sweden hit on the right strategy, but at a high cost. Many other countries can be said to be adopting the "Sweden Strategy" but that is only partially true.
