Carmax is great if you take it for what it is.

If you’re good at haggling and don’t mind doing legwork getting pricing across multiple dealers, you will likely pay a little more for the Carmax hassle free experience, but it’s really unlikely you’ll get a bad deal and you have the added benefit of piece of mind that Carmax is not dumping a total lemon on you. The older I get, the more I value my time and the more I value a hassle free experience.

I would always cross check Carmax prices. Every once in a while their pricing on a particular model can be WAY out of whack.
