I've posted since the start of the Bronco regime

that I thought Howell was the best DB Coach we've had here. His guys used great technique and paid attention to the ball. I don't know what is going on this year?
It seems like Nelson's play has declined vs gotten better.
I never was impressed with Nick Grant as a tackler, but admitted that least year that his play had very much improved--this year, I've only noticed one great play (Clemson?) that he made on a sweep--otherwise, nothing to write home about.
Blount plays and hits hard--that's his game---but he is slow.
Cross, in my opinion, has always been a weak link in our defensive backfield, especially at CB. But, we must assume that we are playing our best guys. Is it lack of talent? or depth? (too many people hurt?).
We've given QBs all day to pass. We need to develop (or execute) more effective pass rush schemes or its going to be a much longer season than, unfortunately, its looking now
