I have not been able to watch the series, so I don't really know either
team. But of course, my ignorance has never prevented me from having an opinion or from posting.
The Dodgers are a really good team -- lots of talent & experience. They have good hitting, starting pitching & defense. However, I am unimpressed with their bullpen. Jansen is a weakness -- at least he has been recently. Treinen doesn't impress me either. (He gave up 2 runs in 2/3 of an inning yesterday.) And I don't think that Roberts is an effective manager in the post-season. The Dodgers are not unbeatable.
That said, they are still the favorites to win the series. They have Buehler for Game 6 or 7 -- not to mention Kershaw for Game 5 -- & Buehler has been really good in the post-season, despite his blister/s, which limited his effectiveness in his 1st outing against the Braves. The Rays DON'T want to face Buehler in Game 7 or in Game 6 if the Dodgers are up 3-2.
The way I see it, The Rays probably need to beat Kershaw in Game 5. That's no easy task, but it's definitely doable. It looks like they'll go with Glasnow again (6.08 ERA), so the Dodgers have a big edge.
Maybe this is the year that Kershaw gets the monkey off his back. Did the Rays use up all of their magic yesterday?
I'm reluctantly picking the favorites (the Dodgers), but I'm rooting for the underdogs (the Rays).
