the trigger on coaches. Athletic departments nationwide are in a huge financial pickle. Many are posting huge losses this year, cutting teams, cutting staff, etc. Coaches like Harbaugh have a huge buyout (I could look up Harbaugh's, I don't really know the amount off-hand). The optics would be awful for a school to say they have to make draconian cuts, then make a major move like fire a coach and his staff. South Carolina, Virginia Tech, and others if they want to make a move would probably wait at least one more year.
