The staff has been recruiting quality backup dual threat QBs.
That is ultimately the answer as that is the offense we run. It is really unfortunate that Armstead missed the last Spring practice, the remaining season, probably the next Spring and perhaps Summer with injury. He clearly is a fine prospect who just needs the reps and consistent development. A healthy Thompson can play QB, but doesn't have the arm of either Armstead or Armstrong, so would prefer him remaining at WR. Then next year, 2 more capable QB prospects, come in. Bad luck has gotten in our way again on backups but the future eventually looks bright..
