Thanks for sharing - not sure that I have seen this particular article,

though as you note, it's 11 months old.

I really dislike the idea that all college sophomores can be drafted. I'm already not a fan of the "draft-eligible sophomore" based on age that we have now -- really seems like it will make it more of a chess match for a college coach and college players.

I think the only "winner" in this is MLB. This was well before they started killing off leagues and replacing them with summer collegiate leagues. The "MLB Draft League" they just created a week ago shows what their endgame is: pay as few players as possible as little as possible, and instead of paying rookie league and short-season A players, call it a "pre-draft league" and don't pay them at all.

The greed of MLB owners has only gotten worse since 1994. They didn't learn their lesson then and now they're prepared to kill the sport to try to wring a few more dollars out of players, local organizations (whether minor league or summer collegiate), and fans.
