Nobody cared. Women's bball back then was little more than a rec league. No

one took it seriously. Debbi's main credential was that she was Gene Corrigan--the AD's---niece. The hiring was truly a throwaway for what was seen as a sport on the level of intramural competition. Plus there was nowhere near the money involved. Tina Thompson probably makes more money in one week than Debbi made all year back then. As I say, nobody cared. And the sad thing is that we've come full circle--- few folks around UVA care now. That's what's saddest about this whole thing.
