He also excelled in his shortened D1 season last year.

Merrimack moved to D1 and struggled in close losses but Bertrand was terrific, despite being a focal point for defenses. For example, He had 4 and 1 in a win over Big 10 member Michigan. Hard to know his ceiling, but he was a Teewarton candidate and Lars wouldn't have added him if he didn't expect him to start. At 6 3" 220, he presents match up problems like Cormier. A difference is that playing with other great players at Virginia, will he draw a short or occupy one, so another really good player gets a short.
