Coaching WBB is easy money. For a sport that rarely generates money how do you justify certain salaries? What do you imagine a typical UVA WBB’ coach’s day entails? I’d be interested to see CTT ‘s highest paid contract as a professional basketball player. Based on what’s considered progress today in WBB, I would be really surprised if it’s anything near what she’s now paid. I’ll bet a lot of past professional women ball players get shocked at the money you make as a P5 coach.. head and assistant! There’s work involved but it’s not the same as having to play!

To live her “best life”, I believe CTT would accept a buyout less than her current contract. It relieves her of the stress of destined failure and then gives her the ability to concentrate on getting the “joy of her life “ prepared for a lucrative professional career. She could easily get a $200k+ gig as an assistant at any P5 school near her future residence. Right now she’s over her head! Her agent would be the headache in the negotiations.

It’s up to the administration to decide what offer needs to be put on the table if they don’t see her as the future!

I think it’s easier than thought especially if USC puts an offer for her to become an assistant upon resigning for UVA!
