I've treated 3 TMJs as a PT

All 3 were family/friends, and done out of the clinic. We got very little training on this in PT school, so my skills were rudimentary and my confidence was minimal, but all 3 reported significant relief of symptoms over the next day or 2, and symptoms fading after that.

I've never gotten a referral for a TMJ in my practice, so you might have to call around to find somebody with some experience unless your dentist can refer to somebody specifically. However, I can attest that some manual mobilization can be effective. Good luck!
