Saban goes and gets the players tho. Every year he loses assistant coaches

But the machine rolls on. The team prepares and plays like, uh, professionals, and that comes from him.

There aren't many that can outcoach him in a one-off game, even fewer that can over one season, and none over a ~five year cycle of recruiting classes, juggling playing time, injuries, etc, all the while modifying systems to maximize the talent. Building that ludicrously talented roster is not just happenstance and it doesn't just happen because it's Bama, far from it.

Clemson probably has the second best staff, but they've done a lot with continuinity and impressive scouting/devopment and at ejust now starting to recruit at the biggest of big boy levels a la Bama/UGA/OSU.

Probably the only guy that can match Saban head to head in most respects is Urban Meyer, but he is prone to burnout and is definitely dirtier.

That said, if you handed Bronco the 2017 recruiting class Saban got, he'd win a boatload of games too!
