I think one of the huge differences is that Saban really

excels in getting players mentally ready to play. In contrast, I am rarely surprised when a UVa team is a no-show. We played 9 ACC games this season we didn't show up for 2 of them, including a game against our biggest rival. According to some posters on this board, our players were just too mentally exhausted from playing a 10 game schedule. Can you imagine an Alabama team not wanting to play in a bowl game? Alabama played 13 games and every one of them was a pressure cooker because a loss could have knocked them out of the playoffs. They took everyone's "A" game and finished 13-0. Amazing coach, amazing results. JMO
