I dunno, at a lot of gates I went to, the seats by the TVs were always
Crowded and people were either watching or at least glancing up regularly. And I did travel a lot. Maybe enough people tire of their phones while being on the road. Or saving battery. Or just prefer the distraction of the TV.
But then again, maybe it was just cost prohibitive vs the eyeballs. Even if every TV is being watched in every airport by 10 to 20 people, it is still a very small number in the big scheme of things. Maybe the airports were asking for too much. Also, I imagine those eyeballs are hardest to measure since there isn't exactly anyone counting. Hard to set a proper value to the cost.
