These are my well thought out observations from the game today
1) When Jay Huff took that charge, our bench looked like all the Lilliputs going after Gulliver.
2) Malcolm Huckaby is fine as announcers go, but while Jay Huff has many, many blocks in the last two games, by my count on only one did he retain possession. And he shouldn’t be allowed to be called Malcolm on the UVa games because I think the real Malcolm (Brogdon, not X) is a guest every time they say his name.
3) I don’t know if there are stats on this, but I would bet we have won the opening tip more than any team in the country over the past 10 years
4) I am always slightly (very) disappointed when Caffaro doesn’t just haul off and punch the guy he’s guarding. Also, his offensive moves remind me of a baby with the big plastic bat swinging wildly. That actually means something in my head.
5) Mike Brey has taken mailing it in to a new level- he continues to be my career role model.
6) I could watch Kihei dribbling around the lane for hours
7) Casey Morsell. Casey Morsell. It sounds so nice, you have to say it twice
8) If I can recommend a great book to read, it’s Cormac Ryan’s memoir about his journey over to America from the old country, leaving his family behind, enduring great hardship, with nothing but 18 cents and an Irish Peeler in his pocket. Poignant
9) OK, I give up. I pay roughly 79% of my disposable income on television services, but I will pay another healthy chunk per broadcast to have the no Worthless Information Left Panel feature on my screens. Name your price networks, you have broken me
10) Jay Huff is the best pivoter in the country
