as the county's 3 high schools were about to start boys & girls basketball, the boom gets lowered & sports have to stop, before they start. The closure now goes through Feb 1. The announcement does say that the teams' first games, which are scheduled for Saturday, can be played, because the covid closure officially starts Monday. But Saturday's games will be the first----and quite possibly the last games played this season. After all, high school football practice is supposed to start Feb 1, the week regular season basketball games were scheduled to end.
