His job is incredibly difficult, not just because the job itself is far more difficult than Trebek made it look, but also because of the challenge of following the legend.
There may have been some difficulties that have been edited out, but the product that's made it to our living rooms has been solid for the past three nights. I think he's holding onto the interviews a touch too long, but maybe some people like it, and it hasn't cost us any clues left on the board yet. Word on the street is that Jennings has been very supportive of the players and has certainly made them feel comfortable, which is important and not too surprising from a former player himself.
I'll be curious to see how the folks who probably aren't considering taking the job full time (I doubt Rodgers or Bialik would take the job because of where they are in their careers and I doubt J! would offer it to a 69 year old Whitaker). It's a tough job and I know that Jennings has practiced a lot. If you're not trying out for the job, how much rehearsing would you do?
