Now we are in our associations awful mentoring and oversight.

We certify them and roll them out on their own with no one watching, or mentoring or spending any time with them. Nothing. Our association does not even pay attention to the young refs doing games trying to look cool rather than professional. It is disheartening, because I often get young ARs that are way over their heads but the assignor has no real options with so few officials.

One time a small group of seniors refs proposed that the association/SOCA set up a small program where we get some type of shirt/jacket and can wander the fields observing and giving feedback to refs, lollypops to overloud parents, and a gentle "coach..." to an over wound coach. Pay $10/hour and make the program known to all the players/parents/coaches. Nothing....
