No argument on panic...but no one good was open

So going step by step

6.1 seconds left- Inbound is thrown behind due to defense preventing a pass forward. McDonald loses all momentum
4.9 second left- McDonald takes first dribble with left hand about 5 feet inside half court. Double has not come yet. There is a pass to teammate in right hand corner but Stanford hedging the passing lane.

4.2 seconds- McDonalds dribbles in. Blitz still not there. Passing angles have gotten worse. HOWEVER, there is a massive opportunity if her teammate in the right corner comes in to force either (a) the Stanford player playing the passing lane to sink and front or (b) the Stanford player gurading on the left block to have to guard 2 Arizona players. That was Arizona's best shot

3.2 seconds- The double comes. Spacing from Zona is horrible. Maybe there is a jump pass to left corner to Thomas, 39% 3 shooter in corner. Would have involved getting it over the double and a player lurking on the inbounder who did not clear or set a screen, allowing her defender to join the blitz on McDonald.

2.5 seconds- McDonald goes to the right. Defender playing passing lane to the right corner is no part of a triple team on her. Jump pass to the player int the corner risky but possible. IF SHE HAD SUNK TO THE BASKET EASY 2.

1.9 seconds- McDonald pivots with her dribble. This is where panic has set in.

1.3 seconds- F it, I am jacking.

So ya agree she panics and decides to take it. But her teammates didn't read the play twice and create an easy basket for her. Other than earlier in the play not sure there was a good pass there that significantly increased scoring potential without increasing risk. In the men's game those passes are easy but in the women's game not sure I buy them. Hell of a game though.
