Lose that game and we are 13-15, a 2-game swing and against the weakest remaining opponent, with now 22 games left.
I had to close down the game due to a commitment. When I returned an hour later, it was 6-6 in the top of the eleventh. Had to look at the Plays in the 9th inning to find that Ortiz had come through once again to get us to extra innings.
It was a bit disappointing to see us abandon the total small ball (poosh-'em-up) approach in some of the innings when 1 more run would have been important rather than returning to muscle-ball a couple of times with hitters who need more QABs based on demonstrated performance over 28 games. This team seems to need to do whatever it can to put pressure on our opponents because we don't have an intimidating lineup yet.
