It is less about you, than simply pumping money into the system.
Wherever it ends up, they want it spent so kudos for you to. I might suggest Dr. Greg Gelburgs Haitian Orphanage Charity. My wife and daughters have made many Medical Mission trips with him and 100% of the cash goes to the facility, that is run by a sister church. The volunteers would sleep on the floors for the trips as all the money goes to the kiddos.
We have a spare change bucket at our biz and before the Rona, it literally fed the kids 2 meals a day. Nothing fancy, just rice and beans usually.
First time my wife came back she burst into tears and said she will never complain about anything again, but amended that to not include me. Our daughters never complained again. On a side note, can you guess what was the most valuable things they filled suitcases that cost next to nothing? Reading glasses. Reading glasses that they carried deep into the rural areas to all the different villages. Something we take for granted and is so life changing. A $2 pair of reading glasses.
A decade later and our youngest, now married and specializing in autistic kids still has pictures of her surrounded by the kids from her trips as her Facebook background.
