My wife worked in the hospital as a PT. The day after major joint surgery


is painful, but the current protocol is to push recovery. Typically, Oxy or similar was prescribed for the pain.

Whenever a junkie would come through, the Oxy's given would not make a dime's difference in the pain level. She always felt very sorry for them.

But, yeah, I needed something strong for some splitting headaches caused by an infected sinus this winter. It was hard to get a narcotic even though I was taking tylenol until my liver values were affected.

We have to find a better balance.
