I'm sure there are a lot of good coaches who aren't good recruiters hanging around the mid and low major ranks, but I suspect you don't know many of their names. Me neither.

Tony is a good coach BECAUSE he is a good recruiter (and b/c of some other stuff, of course).

Also, it's hard to separate "recruiting" and "other stuff" as an exercise b/c Tony's rep as a good coach makes him a good recruiter.

Also, pick an attribute that you think makes Tony a good coach. I pick "steady." Wouldn't "steadiness" be a good attribute in a recruiter, too?

I get the impression when some of you think of recruiting, you think of illegal payments and false promises. My guess is that recruiting is 99+% not that stuff.
