Staple a bed sheet to the trusses and you'll see 6'2" is not enough

Another thing to try is to rent a moving pod and lock yourself in it. You won't like it.

My side addition was a porch that was converted to an office way back in the 1960s. They installed the floor joists over the concrete slab which left the ceiling height at just over 7 feet. It felt cramped and we hated being in that room. I vaulted the ceiling about 4 years ago and it has made a world of difference. Now it is one of our favorite rooms.

My advice is to come up with another option - move or build an addition.
