I agree that Saustad, not Kology, is the number one close defenseman. Shellenberger plays enough midfield to justify his selection there. It's easier to make the team as a middie than as an attackman. Unless he is injured, he should end his career as UVA's best attackman ever. Some attackmen playing middie are simply fourth attackmen playing out of position to get on the field. He is more like Casey Powell was as a sophomore when he was named MOY, a natural attackman who was such a good lax player that even playing outside his natural position, he was better than most "true" middies. Moore is an excellent player who will need to play well for the team to advance. Shellenberger is a generational player who may be the best player on the team as a redshirt freshman.
