Agreed - last year we didnt extend offers to interns and this year we did

its more work to be the intern's mentor now WFH than it has ever been. The mentors are going to spend about 2-3 unbillable hours a week (at least) now checking in on the interns and see how they are doing. We are also having to do a department meet and greet during working hours to "meet" our two interns. It used to be they would just walk around and you maybe spend 5-10minutes talking to them but now we are going to spend 1-2 hours so that we can all get acquainted.

I think in most industries WFH isn't going to be as easy as you would think. There will always be exceptions - we are allowing someone to WFH two states away because one partner has deemed this person too valuable to lose but someone else wasn't afforded WFH status and basically has to decide if they want to call the partner bluff and walk or accept that " everyone are equal but some are more equal than others"......
