Don't think of NIL like Eastern Motors, think of it like IPTAY

NIL will revolve far more around generating a guaranteed income stream for revenue sport recruits than about how to book crappy commercial appearances for the backup quarterback.

The entire enterprise is going to become about influencing the decisions of recruits and transfers, which means drawing as straight a line as possible from 'commit to Kentucky' to 'get this NIL check'.

That means organizing events and opportunities for alumni to, as nearly as directly as possible, give money to players under the rubric of an NIL activity. Those giving the money are not going to be expecting some sort of commercial benefit like selling more cars (your Eastern Motors example) - the benefit they seek is to have Kentucky land that 5-star recruit. So NIL will evolve in a way to make it clear to donors that if you give money here and in this way, it will go into that 5-star recruits pocket.
