Something to remember about the #2 guys in a lot of sports.

I think there is something to the idea that they are really good because there's a #1 guy to draw the best defender and they can score against a lesser light. How many times have we seen the #2 WR on an NFL team go to another team as their #1 and not do anywhere near as well as he did before because now he's drawing the top cornerback of the opponents' defenses? In lax, how often have we seen #2 attackmen who are a class or two behind the #1 guy and then their stats fall off when the #1 guy graduates and now the former #2 is drawing the opponents' best defender? I'm not saying they're not good players, they are or they wouldn't be starters at the top level.
