The ACC has a lot to sort out actually. The biggest threat to future


viability is losing Clemson, and behind them I'd put UNC and Florida State. But especially Clemson. Much of that depends on what the SEC intends with its acceptance of OU and UT... they were already the strongest and the wealthiest conference because of football dominance, investment, and reinvestment, and didn't need two more football powers to remain that way for at least another generation. There has been plenty of speculation regarding those intentions, but it is not out of the question that they seek to add a few more key pieces and create a league that either stands alone, or dictates everything that happens in what used to be NCAA Football.

So, do nothing, try to keep schools, try to poach schools, try to merge with another conference, add Big12 leftovers or not, these are all important choices. The biggest risk of doing nothing though is the more ambitious football schools walking out the front door because they see a long term brighter future somewhere else.
