As I understand things, which isn't a given...

the current disparity between the SEC and ACC is about $9 mil per team per year ($43 mil vs $34 mil). Someone better informed may wish to correct me about this. If that were bumped to $20 mil you would be very right about the motivation to leave. However, the next question is, "What conference would accept a new school if it came without its media rights?" Again, this is just as I understand things, but I believe the ACC has been assigned the GOR of its member institutions through 2034 or 2035. Without that, how attractive is any school to any conference? Until told otherwise, I imagine the ACC is relatively stable for the next dozen years, or so. And, by that time, the face of intercollegiate sports may have changed so much that all of this is moot. Who knows? Go 'Hoos!!!
