Pretty old but not dead. Had COVVID back in 12/20, but brushed it off.

I HAVE been following the boards recently, but my computer had been hacked back in March, and subsequently fried my hard drive, so had to rebuild everything. It's a longer story, but not needed to the point.

I was partly drawn back by board inquiries about my whereabouts surrounding MSGHoo's funeral, so I wanted you folks to know that I was there at Arlington National. I had been friends with Sarge and Fran for years, arising from our Wilk Hall days, so I felt the need to be there for Fran's support. It was beautiful... probably 100 yards or less from the Air Force Memorial, which is an incredibly moving structure.

It was great seeing Fran and the rest of their family, and I wouldn't trade the experience for anything. Sarge, like me, could definitely be a pain the buttocks, but he was a good friend, and earned the burial spot for sure. If you have never been to Arlington National, please do yourself a favor and go whenever you have the opportunity.

As many of you know, besides my love of UVa and our football and basketball programs, I LOVE the Wahoo nonrevenue sports, most particularly tennis and swimming & diving, so my most recent thoughts tend to surround the US Open Tennis and the Spring NCAA Championship for women's swimming.

I watched 6 or 8 of the matches played by Raducano and Fernandez, so trust me when I say that both, particularly Emma, are the real deal. They'll have their ups and downs over the next year, more than likely, but they will both be consistent winners after that.

I also saw a good bit of the Djoker matches and the Medvedev matches along with two of Sasha Zverev's matches. Several fans here seem to believe Djoker is running out of runway, but I believe he has plenty of good tennis left in him. Hew played the last two weeks like the champion he has been and remains to be. Medvedev is, to me(unlike chicken) a fun guy to watch and a helluva tennis player. I love his game!

Therefore, I think either player could win today, and when they do, it won't change my mind at all in terms of my respect and admiration for both.

I love what's happening in professional tennis, although like most of you, I'd sure like to see the American men get better. In college swim/dive, I cannot wait to see the Wahoo men replicate what the women have accomplished, and I'd love to see Emma, Kate and Alex win gold in 3 years, and I'd love to see Claire Kurzan become a Hoo next Fall.

That's it for now. I missed all of you guys and gals, and I'm glad to be back here. I can assure all that I will be more feisty than ever, in spite of successfully reaching 78 years young.

Wahoowa!
