Novak had won 27 GS matches in a row, but needed 28. I enjoyed

today's final, but Medvedev was just too good. He reminded me of Novak at a similar age (25). He seemingly ran everything down, which is amazing at 6-6 Looking at the stats the 2 big differences were aces 16-9 in favor of Medvedev and the % of points won on 2nd serve. Medvedev was 58% and Djoker was only 40%.

He plays a lot like Novak, a great defensive player but with a bigger serve and bigger forehand. At age 25 It will be interesting to see how many more slams he eventually wins. I would not be surprised to see him win more slams then the Big 3 all currently with 20. Not meant as a prediction, but it seems possible.

I think the 3 young guns Medvedev, Zverev and Tsitsipas and few others like Thiem, maybe Alliasime, and Alcaraz are about to take over winning future Slams. Nadal can still win the French and Novak can still win any of them, but age will get him in few years. Fed is about done and it would not surprise me if he decides to retire with his looming knee surgery.
