Take a safety course and apply for one


EDIT: I don't want to sound terse, but there is no "accelerated" way I know of doing it. When I got mine you had to take classes in person, either gun safety or a hunter's safety course which was really the main hold up. Now I think you can take online courses that qualify in your spare time. Then you apply in your county and wait for the magistrate and sheriff to do their thing and there you go. No more than a few months
