Marylanders

And as someone who has lived in Baltimore all my life--save for a few years in the Hook--I couldn't be happier to see UVA move away from the MIAA and recruit nationally. A sport that relies too heavily on a handful of prep schools is more like squash than football, basketball, or soccer. The best MIAA players will have a place on the rosters of teams in the ACC and the like, but the best teams will be made up more and more of superior athletes instead of rich kids who got their first sticks at six. I say this as the son of an MSA coach and a graduate of an MSA (now MIAA) school.
