I don't support misleading data

You can't just bring bad data to an argument with someone who likes data. That is like bringing a bad plate of food to a chef and saying 'but you like food!'.

I explained in detail why 'date of death reported' produces extremely misleading and incomplete results for any time in the most recent 2 weeks (since it deliberately omits most deaths in the last 2 weeks) and thus produces a 'trend' that is a perpetual lie by ignoring recent deaths.

If this type of data is presented in a context where the readers understand those limitations, its ok, but it is obviously being used in a context where most people are trying to discern the current status and the current trend. Using date of death is a cynical and manipulative technique to obfuscate both of those. There is a reason almost no other state uses this method for its top-line reporting (though many will give you that data in a more buried graph if you really want it).
