Both tend to loose some recruits every year

Typically not big numbers though. With Army and Navy, the bulk of their incoming classes does a year at MAPS or NAPS before starting at West Point or Annapolis. It’s not unusual for a few to decide to pursue other options after a semester or two at MAPS or NAPS. With Ivy League, there are often a few who flip late in the process for one reason or another. Mencke flipped from Harvard to UVA; Bienkowski was an Army commit, and Myers (‘22 recruit) was a former Navy commit.

Hoos probably aren’t where the coaches expected to be at this point with ‘23 recruiting. It’s a bit of a weird year so far. Tiffany and Tillman are the two best coaches in the game right now, and they’re at about the same place with their ‘23 classes - few commits and lots of scholly money left to spend, probably more than any other of the top programs. I expect the Hoos will be OK in the end - Lars and crew have shown patience in their recruiting, have been excellent at developing their talent, and when necessary, and have landed a few key transfers that have have a positive impact.
